Legacy Youth Leadership (LYL) is a nonprofit organization that works to build a socially conscious & active generation of young people. LYL provides free educational & activism programs as well as leadership coaching & mentoring to young people to supplement students’ existing school & youth development. LYL equips students with the tools they need to reach their academic & philanthropic goals and to make a REAL impact in the world around them by building water projects and supporting other social & charitable initiatives.

Legacy supports several nonprofit partners working to change the world in different ways. We ask STUDENTS what issues/causes you want us to equip you to take action around, and we organize our programs and support around that feedback. The relationship between Legacy and Thirst Project goes deeper than our other charity partners. Legacy joins with other sponsoring organizations like us and actually helps to pay for and cover the costs of many of our partner Thirst Project’s operational activities and even pays employees who are able to volunteer their time to make up Thirst Project’s domestic/United States “Staff”, along with other organizations & groups who donate services to support Thirst Project’s work. This allows Thirst Project to maintain that all of their United States Operations are 100% donated and executed by the contributions of volunteers from our & other similar support organizations.

A gift to Legacy Youth Leadership is an investment in young people. Our programs and their costs directly benefit the leaders of tomorrow. Any expense reflected in our financials is meant to build the capacity of our organization and the growth of our school programs. Our funding model ensures that every cause we support can commit to investing 100% of the funds they raise directly into their work.

The organization was founded on April 11, 2016.

Legacy Youth Leadership is one of the largest YOUTH activism organizations in the world. We are building the next generation of young socially-conscious activists by inspiring more than 360,000 students on over 1,000 campuses across America EVERY YEAR. Since it began, Legacy Youth Leadership has mobilized 2.6 million students to lead activations that raise awareness of & funds to fight humanitarian crises around the world!

To date, our young people have raised over $11 million, 100% of which has been given directly to our cause partners.
