Scholarships

Each year, we want to honor the impressive & life-changing work of our students by providing financial support to those in need. The number of Scholarships available as well as the amounts of each Scholarship vary from year to year. Applications for 2023 have not yet opened but be sure to check back here for more details at the start of the Summer.

In 2021, our friends at Tea Drops came together to support all of YOUR hard work last year running awareness campaigns, fundraising in your local community and learning how to lead a movement even during the COVID pandemic. Tea Drops honored your efforts by partnering with Legacy Youth Leadership to provide ten (10) $1,000 scholarships.

PREVIOUS 2021 SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA / ELIGIBILITY

  • Applications were open from July 5th, 2021 at 9am PT to August 2nd, 2021 at 9am PT
  • Five (5) $1,000 Scholarships were awarded to Young Female Leaders
    • Must have signed up for one of LYL’s three (3) Student Leadership & Mentorship programs (see below)
      • Student Leadership Program
      • Public Speaking Program
      • School Club Program
    • Must have completed Scholarship Application
    • Must have been a Full time Student at any School during 2020-21 School Year
    • Must have been under 25 Years old & Identify as Female
  • Five (5) $1,000 Scholarships were also awarded
    • Must have signed up for one of LYL’s three (3) Student Leadership & Mentorship programs (see below)

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  1. When can you apply?
    • Our 2023 Scholarship applications will be open again starting in June 2022 through August 2023.
  2. What is the application format?
    • Students must complete our 2023 Scholarship application to collect basic information on the applicant as well as answering questions about their work.
  3. Who decides on the final recipients?
    • Legacy Youth Leadership will elect an unbiased, third party committee (3) that have no experience in working with the scholarship candidates including Sashee Chandran, Founder & CEO of Tea Drops.
  4. What supplemental materials are required?
    • In addition to the completed form, students are permitted to share photos/videos depicting their accomplishments as well as recommendations from a relevant advisor/mentor.
