Once a student commits to joining our Leadership Program, each student participates in a journey that grows and develops them as an individual, with the goal to develop the skills they need to create real, tangible change in the world today. The Leadership Program is time-sensitive, cohort-based, part pre-recorded digital/part virtual live-sessions led by mentors, and runs on a rolling basis throughout the academic year. The program is made up of four modules that build the skills of Self and Social Awareness, Goal Setting, Strategic Planning, Marketing, Communication, and Fundraising. Every student is matched with a mentor that guides them through the program that includes video content, worksheets, live lessons, and action steps. The purpose of the program is to guide and shape the leadership development of a student so that they can use their time, money, voice, or vote to impact the world today!
Young people who volunteer are 50% less likely to abuse drugs, alcohol & cigarettes.

Our operations are funded by a group of incredibly generous private donors, foundations and sponsors cover everything from staff salaries to office rent to travel and supplies. These donors are amazing. They know the value of investing in operations and their investment fuels our long-term mission, our ability to make tangible impact on global issues.
The purpose of Legacy Youth Leadership’s programs are to build a socially-conscious and active generation of young people by equipping them with all of the resources & tools they need to take on any humanitarian crisis. We have worked diligently to identify different stages of a young person’s progression from consciousness to activity around an issue, using specific data points & markers to accurately measure a young person’s progress throughout their own leadership development journey. Don’t take our word for it – listen to what a few different student & teacher leaders who have gone through our programs had to say:
“This experience was great because before today I had truly never thought deeply about how I can bring change to issues I feel strongly about. I had also never thought about how my goals could be achieved by making them SMART. This program was more eye opening for me as a goal setter than anything else.” – Student Leader from Bay High School (Cleveland, OH)
“Since getting started with this experience, I’ve been blessed to learn a lot more about myself. I’ve been blessed to learn what it means to be a servant leader. To lead from the top down to become action oriented, to lead by example, to keep the mission at the heart of everything I do. When I look back on my life, it’s kind of the story of two parts. Life before and life after this experience. And ultimately, I’m a more passionate person and understand myself better, thanks to this experience” – Student Leader from University of Georgia (Athens, GA)
“Overall, Legacy Summit was amazing. As an Advisor for elementary school students, as well as volunteering as a Team Captain, I found the information and connections made with other participants, volunteers, and staff to be invaluable. – School Teacher from Wiley Canyon Elementary (Newhall, CA)
